IC Information
CHARACTER NAME; Ratonhnhaké:ton (Connor)
AGE; 14
CANON; Assassin's Creed III
CANON POINT; After returning to the Homestead after the Boston Massacre, and resuming his Assassin training.
FAMILY TYPES; As discussed, he'll be keeping Armadillomon, same as before.

APPEARANCE; Connor is tall for his age, almost as tall as most full-grown men. He's not thin, but somewhat scrawny and gangly, not having yet filled out in terms of muscle weight. He has copper skin, brown eyes, and black shoulder-length hair, which he braids at one side. He dresses in traditional Kanien'kehá:ka attire, with a loose-fitting shirt, greyish breeches, protective deerskin wraparound leggings, and moccasins, with a red sash around his waist. He is always armed with a tomahawk at his belt, a knife, and his bow and arrows, with the new addition of hidden blade bracers on his arms.

PERSONALITY; Like his older self, Connor has a deep-seated drive for justice and hatred of tyranny. His life has been marked by the loss of his mother and attack on his village, and since then he has pushed himself to become stronger, to do better, to learn more and grow that he might protect his people from the past being repeated. He begins to question why his people are confined to the valley, chained to protecting their ancestral lands. He knows that if they do nothing to protect themselves from the threat posed by settlers, they will be wiped out -- yet if they act, they will bring war upon themselves. They're damned if they do or if they don't, and so Connor takes it upon himself to leave and seek to protect the village from the outside.

He shoulders an enormous amount of responsibility at only fourteen, coming to carry the burden not just of his people's safety, but the continuation of the Assassin order as well. Even at a young age he still possesses unwavering tenacity: when Achilles refuses to teach him, he camps out in the mansion stables and returned to the mansion each morning to pester the old man into teaching him. And when he is told that he must kill his father in order to ensure the freedom and safety of the land and his people, he agrees to the task without question. He is no stranger to killing if he has to, and has mentally prepared himself for the inevitable since, as a child, he swore he would hunt down Charles Lee, the one he blamed for the destruction of his village and death of his mother.

Because of his sheltered existence in the Mohawk Valley, largely separate from colonial society, Connor is very reserved and quiet as a teenager. Talking to new people doesn't come easily to him, and European customs as simple as handshakes, or grammatical quirks like referring to ships as "she", leave him confused, as English isn't his first language. Despite his strong stance against injustice, he's naive to just how unjust British America is: he doesn't comprehend the kind of prejudice Achilles faces as a man of Afro-Caribbean descent, for instance, and at another point he believes bribing printers to disperse lies as a means of covering up more lies is wrong, even if the bribe is working in his favour. His morality is very black-and-white, and at this point, he doesn't have enough experience to realise pure ideals simply do not match up to the reality around him.

Although Connor lacks confidence in social situations with outsiders, he is very forthright and direct, helped along by his previously mentioned naivete and inherent honesty. His kindness, too, and selfless concern for others, mean that his reserved personality does not serve as too much of a barrier. In terms of physical ability, he is far more confident. Although still in that awkward clumsy teenage stage, he's a capable fighter and hunter, with sharp intelligence and a desire to learn, "Provided something interests me." Still, waiting and biding his time are things he has yet to master: he can be stubborn, impatient and reckless, all flaws he's aware of and trying to rid himself of under Achilles' guidance.

Abandonment is something he's felt repeatedly in his childhood and something he can still be hurt by. He's visibly upset and angry when, after he's accused of firing the shot that triggered the Boston Massacre of 1770, he's left behind by Achilles to fend for himself in a town and a society entirely unfamiliar to him. He's more soft-spoken and withdrawn than his older self, but when angered, he can raise his voice and become as vocal as he does when he's older. He's also very proud; when he climbs a cliff to retrieve eagle feathers from a nest, only to fall from the branch and (luckily) land in a pile of leaves, he brushes off Kanen'tó:kon's concern with a pointed, "What? I did that on purpose." So, while he dislikes dishonesty, and is inherently humble, when it comes to his accomplishments and the limits of his abilities, bull-headed pride is one of his pitfalls.

HISTORY; "How do you hope to improve if you don't push yourself?"

THIRD PERSON; Ratonhnhaké:ton felt the cold rock beneath his fingers. Testing his weight on the rocks below gingerly, and ignoring the stomach-churning drop, he took a breath, then pulled himself up. His limbs were tired and heavy with the day's journey, but he made it, rolling onto the clifftop with a relieved sigh.

The sun was making a steep descent, sending shards of whitish pink across blue sky. He could see all of the valley from here, the treetops, the silvery line of the Mohawk river. His village had long vanished out of sight, swallowed up by the forests. Closer, he could see a colonist's house by the river. There was a mill, and smoke coiled up from the chimney like a dark snake, fading up into the air. As he'd journeyed, that sight had become more and more frequent, telling him just how far the settlers had begun to encroach on the lands of his people.

The boy checked his pack of provisions, his bow and other weapons, his map. He hadn't lost anything in the climb, thankfully, and he was making quick progress. He would make it to the coast in less than a week, assuming all went well. For the first time in his life, he would see the sea.

He wanted to keep his thoughts ahead of him, not behind, yet he found his eyes transfixed to the mill and felt a twist in his gut of worry. He thought of the embrace Oiá:ner had given him as she sent him on his way with her blessing. He thought of Kanen'tó:kon, his best friend, how their games and misadventures and hunting trips were at an end. When would he see them again? Would they be safe without him? Could he hope to protect them, with so many miles separating them?

It was not useful to dwell on such things. He stood, hoisting his pack, taking his last look at the Mohawk Valley. He would find somewhere to bed down for the night, and then press on towards his destiny.
